The design draws inspiration from Italian modernism of the ‘60s and ’70s and the many restaurants that previously called this address home.
It’s not retro. It’s not nostalgic. It’s old things combined in unexpected ways to create something new.
The intimate dining room wraps around an open kitchen buzzing with action.
The cuisine is inspired by the Italian kitchens of New York, but PROPER belongs wholly to Toronto, and unmistakably to Roncesvalles, a neighbourhood known for its friendliness and sense of community.
